Hazardous Materials training

Hazardous Materials Management

The Associate of Applied Science degree prepares the student for entry into an occupation or closely related cluster of occupations. Students may be eligible to receive credit in these areas: industry/workplace training, military training/schooling, and/or civilian education (documents necessary for evaluation must be in the form of professional licensure, industry recognized certificates, military certificates of completion, and/or college transcripts). Documents will be evaluated only upon written student request and only if the student is a degree-seeking student and majoring in the field to which the credit pertains. Credits are awarded based on the American Council on Education ACE Guide. The degree requires a total of 64 credits, 15 of which must be completed with Barton.

The 1-year Certificate Program offers a shorter program to students looking to get into the career field of Hazardous Materials Management. Successful completion of the Certificate program requires a minimum of 34 credit hours.

Visit the Cost per Credit Hour webpage for more information.

Advising

Academic advisors are here to help students with decision making for class selection and guidance with degree programs. Advisors generally work by appointment but do accept walk-ins when available. New students seeking a preliminary degree plan should bring/send all pertinent documentation with them to their appointment. In order to be evaluated for transfer credit, transcripts from prior colleges must be official copies. Additionally, copies of certificates from employer based training can be evaluated for transfer credit.
